Join us on December 4th at Café l’Artere for Native Immigrant IV – a living example of how, here in Montreal, we live in peace.  Be part of this journey and experience what love and art can do.  Carolina Echeverria, Janet Lumb, Amrita Choudhury, Emilie Monnet, Susan L. Scott and Saulo Cruz de Oliveira exhibit the multidisciplinary works after six weeks of collaboration. Visual arts, poetry, readings, song, dance and performance are at the core of this Native Immigrant collaboration.

Thurs. December 4, 2014, 5 – 8 pm, Opening Vernissage, Myriam`s Dress, Café l’Artère, 7000 Ave du Parc (corner of Jean Talon)

Between the six-week period from October to December 2014, 6 artists/facilitators worked with participants individually in their respective work environments. Susan L. Scott conducted a writing workshop with stories that emanate from the dress making activity experiences and will do some readings. Janet Lumb joined forces with writer, Judith Brisson, singer Isabella Ptito Echeverria (Carolina’s 12 year daughter), and classical guitarist, Paolo Benzi transforming Judith’s poem from the dress into a spoken word song. Emilie Monnet collaborated with a participant transforming their oral story into performance. Saulo Cruz de Oliveira collaborated with Icham, the brother of Myriam and Stephane, the husband of Myriam. Inspired from Icham and Stephane’s dress making stories, Saulo recorded his music on line and from Chile, will Skype with the Montreal public. Amrita Choudhury teams up with a participant and their story from the dress making and interprete into dance.
